What Is the MultiversX Supernova Upgrade?

Phase B, following a synchronisation period of approximately 200 rounds, activates the 600-millisecond block time and the full Propose/Vote-then-Execute logic. 

The network will stop accepting new pool transactions for roughly 240 rounds under the old six-second clock, about 24 minutes, while in-flight transactions clear.

MultiversX governance approved Supernova with 99.64% of voting power in favour during the January 2026 vote. The proposal drew 32.40% participation, with more than 4.6 million in voting power backing the change. 

The final software build reached mainnet on September 2, 2026, opening a migration window for the network's 5,000-plus nodes ahead of activation at round 32157661.

Two earlier upgrades made this shift possible. Andromeda removed confirmation blocks and expanded the consensus group from 63 to 400 validators per execution shard.
